The idea came to us in 2012, when our soon to be CEO, Christian Rodriguez, asked our soon to be President, Guillermo Gaspart, a lifelong hotelier, why it wasn't possible to choose the check-in time at hotels. From that conversation, a new way of booking the best hotels was born: The microstay!

Go to BYHOURS (either the website or our app) and follow these steps:
Search for your hotel or city with the check-in day and the number of hours you need (3, 6, or 12).
Select your favorite hotel: we have all kinds of hotels at all different prices.
Select the time you will enter the hotel.
Complete your reservation with your credit card info or PayPal account. At this step you will only have to pay for management fees, the rest you will pay for directly at the hotel. You will receive a confirmation email with all the details.
It’s possible that there are no available hotels in your area for the date you want. When this happens, try changing the destination (maybe there is a hotel in another nearby city) or the pack of hours. If there are still no available hotels, contact us and we will try to find a solution.
Take into account that some destinations are usually very busy during certain dates (for example in Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress) and we are unable to accept all requests.
If we don’t have any hotels at your destination, keep in mind that we are adding new hotels every day that offer microstays, so it’s possible we will have the hotel you need in a few weeks.
Yes, prices are per double room and pack of hours. VAT and all taxes are included in most countries (except for the tourist tax, which must be paid in some hotels). Should this not be the case, we will inform you of this before you finish your purchase.
The tourist tax is a tax on stays in tourist establishments. It will only be charged in some cases and must be paid directly at the hotel. It will vary depending on the destination, the location of the hotel and its category.
These are some of the destinations where you will be charged a tourist tax: Amsterdam and Berlin (5% of the room’s rate), Brussels (will vary depending on the category of the hotel), Hungary (€1.50), Lisbon (€1), Paris (ranging from €0.22 to €4.40, depending on the category of the hotel), Prague (€0.50), Rome and Milan (ranging from €2 to €7, depending on the category of the hotel), Vienna (3.20% of the room’s rate), Barcelona (ranging from €0.45 to €2, depending on the category of the hotel).
Most reservations are confirmed immediately unless you have requested a room with ‘Confirmation within 60 min’. When you see this message, it means that this reservation needs to be confirmed by the hotel (usually within a few minutes). This constitutes a reservation request, where we will then call the hotel directly to confirm your booking. In these cases, you will receive an email from our team informing you whether your request has been confirmed or not. If it is not confirmed, you will not be charged anything.
Once you have filled in all of your details and click confirm, your reservation details and a confirmation number will appear on the screen. This code is your reservation’s confirmation. In addition, you will receive all of the information by email. If you haven’t received the email, contact us and we will resend it to you, however you won’t need it for your reservation: the confirmation number is enough.
In this case, contact our customer service team and they will help you by changing the email or resending it to you.

You can pay using your credit card or PayPal account.
ATTENTION: When you make your reservation with PayPal, you will receive a payment authorization notification for the total amount of your reservation, but this is NOT a payment,, simply a pre-authorization. The total price of your reservation must be paid at the hotel. PayPal will only charge you management fees.
In addition to credit cards and PayPal, some hotels accept reservations by SMS, where the total price is paid in full at the hotel. Here you can find the hotels that offer this system.
The management fees are the amount you pay at the time of confirming your reservation that allow BYHOURS to cover its operating costs. If you cancel your reservation at least 24 hours before check-in, the amount will of course be refunded immediately.
The management fee is always included in the final price of your reservation, and is the only amount that you will have to pay during the booking process. The remaining amount of your reservation will be paid directly at the hotel.
You can enter it directly in the ‘PROMOTIONS’ section that you will find during the booking process. Just fill in your personal information, open the ‘PROMOTIONS’ section and enter the promotional code.
Once you have filled in the field and clicked outside of it, the code will automatically be validated. If it is correct, you will see the amount be automatically deducted from the final price. Take a look at the purchase summary on the side to make sure that everything is correct and that the discount has been applied correctly.
Sometimes our payment gateway will reject a payment when it detects incorrect information. When this happens, carefully read the error message, check all fields and try it again. If you continue to get an error and using another card doesn't work, contact us or your bank because there is most likely a problem with your card.
If you don’t have a credit card, you can use PayPal with your checking account. If this option is also impossible, you can only confirm your reservation in hotels that accept confirmation via SMS. Few hotels offer this option, you can see all of them here
On your credit card statement, “Travel Booking” will appear next to the price of the booking.
You can request the receipt or invoice directly at the hotel on the day of your stay.
Since payment is made directly where you stay, the hotel is where you should claim the refund. Still, if you need help, don’t hesitate to contact us at email@example.com
Cancellations are free up until 24 hours before check-in time. You can cancel your reservation directly through the confirmation email, from your “MyHours” profile or by clicking here.
If you wish to cancel the reservation within 24 hours before your check-in, contact us and we will contact the hotel to try and get them to accept a cancellation free of charge.
Once the cancellation is confirmed, it may take up to a week to see the amount back in your account. The number of days may vary depending on the bank.
First notify us as soon as possible, during customer service hours (Mon. – Sun. from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm). Despite the cancellation deadline, we will try to get in touch with the hotel and change the date of the reservation or even cancel it free of charge, although the hotel reserves the right to charge you for the reservation.

If you think you’re going to be late or you’d like to arrive earlier, we suggest that you notify the hotel, because they may have your room ready and won’t mind if you arrive a few minutes before. But it will depend on the hotel and the circumstances. In any case, if you arrive later, the hotel will not extend your check-out time, and you will have to leave the room at the original check-out time of your reservation.
